Navratri Collection '19
Navratri is a festival which is celebrated by performing garba for 9 nights. Garba is a folk dance of Gujarat state. It is a festival to dress up as much as to dance till past midnight. Keeping in mind the traditional attire and the contemporary twists that have taken place in the years, this collection is designed with a feel of both. The ghagras are with full flare of 6 metres and above in cotton and cotton crush fabric. They are ombre dyed to complement the odhanis with colourful and shimmery tassels. The dupattas are of 2 types. The silk dupattas are traditional Ajrakh Hand Block printed designs combined with Hand tied Bandhani or Shibori designs using vegetable colours. They are jazzed up with tassels on the edges. The other dupattas are made in chiffon fabric with fresh and bright hues and woven zari. To beautify them further, khaatwork or hand embroidery is done on them with sequins, pearls and gold thread.
